Phoenixville Public Library welcomes Rebecca Krause, the new
children's librarian. Rebecca is a Phoenixville
resident who has been working with children for many years
having been a leader of the Second Avenue Home and School
Association and also employed at the library in various
capacities, including children services.
She received
her bachelor of science in literature and philosophy from
Excelsior College in Albany New York and her master's in
Library Science from Clarion University here in
Pennsylvania.
A certified library professional, by
the Pennsylvania Department of Education, she enjoys working
with children and firmly believes that nothing compares to
the concept of being able to open a book to discover the
universe and share ideas while enjoying a real learning
experience. Rebecca said her passion is not just reading but
reading with a purpose.
From the preschooler to the
young adult Rebecca believes that our children are our
future and "it is important for us as parents and caregivers
to make sure they have an opportunity to succeed through
education. My role as children's librarian will help them
work towards that goal."
